The Zouk weavers mastered the art of the loom and excelled at making "abayas" and other lavish garments instead of general clothing. They used the looms also to turn simple wool fabrics into luxury items by introducing gold and silver brocade.
Zouk weavers worked with skill and mastery as for them the "color is the painting" and the "yarn a miracle". They excelled in weaving known figures such as General De Gaulle, Queen Victoria, and others onto fabric.
